Someone Who Likes Puzzles
So, what kind of person likes to do jigsaw puzzles? We have come up with a lot of names, Jigsaw Junkies, Puzzlers, and so on. But we are still not satisfied with what we thought, and we researched it online. It is so far from the ones we previously come up with. It is called; Dissectologist. Yes. At first thought, it may be connected with dissecting animals as a past time, which may not be a cool word to describe our favorite hobby.
Dissectologist is someone who likes puzzles. During the 19th-century, jigsaw puzzles were identified as dissected maps or dissected puzzles. In the time era, these were hand-cut irregular shaped wooden pieces assembled together to create a picture. It was called dissected maps because these were puzzles made from printed maps that are recreational and educational. These maps were pasted onto woods and cut into irregular shapes. It started the jigsaw puzzle craze.
Why Do Solving Puzzles Make Someone Happy?
As for my experience, the joy that I felt putting pieces together during family time is so tremendous that I want to experience it frequently. Many people like me experience happiness whenever they finish a jigsaw puzzle. You can either spend quality time with yourself and get swept away by puzzles or do it as a bonding time with your family. Both give an ecstatic feeling to people who love solving jigsaw puzzles.
Your daily routine, work-related issue, and social media can exhaust you and give additional stress. Often, we are looking for something to do to help us reconnect with ourselves alone and unwind. Just go away from all the pressure for a while; that is why many people turn into the fantastic and engaging world of a jigsaw puzzle. With only one goal in mind, you can sit for a while, forget everything and focus on completing your picture.
Aside from that, it also helps you live longer as it improves your brain functions and problem-solving skills. It is an excellent work-out for your brain. A recent study proved that higher cognitive abilities are maintained in jigsaw players than those who did not. That is why puzzles can be your go-to-activity anytime.
Now, as someone who likes puzzles, I can proudly call myself a dissectologist. There are great benefits in exercising your brains, and do not underestimate the feeling of achieving a specific goal, whether it is as small as completing a jigsaw puzzle to bigger goals. Solving jigsaw makes people who play it really happy for a time and allows them just to be themselves. As for me, it builds my self-confidence and gives me some time to be comfortable in the company of my friends and family.
